National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) is being observed this year on Wednesday, February 7. The Strategic Leadership Council (the community lead for NBHAAD) has established this year’s theme: “Stay the Course, the Fight is Not Over!” According to NBHAAD organizers, the primary purpose of the event is to encourage Black Americans to:
- Get educated – learn the facts about HIV and AIDS and its effects on local communities;
- Get tested for HIV;
- Get involved in efforts to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and help people access prevention and treatment; and
- Get treated and remain in care if they are already living with HIV.
In observance of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, The Project will be at Creative Visions in Des Moines on February 7, 2018 from 11 AM – 5 PM. We’ll Provide:
- HIV & PrEP education
- Free and confidential HIV Test
